What I wore: 3/ Grey floppy hat Aldo, leopard print scarf LOFT, Jean button down Cloth & Stone Anthropologie. 4/ Jeans Paige denim, Shoes Classic Converse, Grey sweater LOFT.
The trip: I got to visit Italy in March of 2016 with my mom ( definitely a mom & daughter girl trip)! We had a great 10 days in Venice, Florence and Rome. The shopping, the coffee, the pastries, and everything in-between was perfection.
I booked this trip with GATE 1 and I have to say I would 100% recommend them to anyone who wants to do an organized tour and not have to worry about anything at all. (seriously they take care of everything)!
How to get there: I flew KLM Royal Dutch Airways. Houston>Amsterdam>Venice on the way home Rome>Amsterdam>Houston.
Where we stayed: Venice Hotel Bellini, Florence San Gallo Palace, Rome Cicerone Hotel.
Things to see: In Venice the best thing to do is get lost ( that’s easy to do with all the winding streets and staircases that actually lead to nowhere). There are lots of great pizzerias and coffee shops, and (the shopping isn’t bad either). San Marco square is great for your upscale shopping and a great place for some yummy italian bites!
Florence: This is the spot to get all the leather and gold your heart desires! I visited C.O.I. where I custom-made a gold bracelet to remember this awesome trip! There are also some fantastic leather shops to buy jackets, and bags. Some other things to see are the churches and basilicas that are a spectacle to see in person.
Rome: The most popular things to see in Rome are the Colosseum & The Vatican. I also got see Michelangelo’s David!
We did make some other stops along the way in Tuscany, Assisi, and Pisa (these stops are defiantly worth it) I fell in love with Assisi it has an almost story book feel with stone buildings and small shops and restaurants. This place is a must see!
Other things to know: We traveled to Italy in March so we did run into some rain and grey days. Venice does tend to flood, so be prepared to buy some boots that go over your actual shoes ( they are about $8 US, they aren’t the most fashionable but hey you’re in Italy right?!) or you can bring some shoes or rain boots you don’t mind getting wet.
Beautiful…both you and the scenery!!
Thank you so much!
