Cabo style story

After a year of no travel (for the most part) it was time to dust of the passport and go south to one of my favorite places, the beaches of Mexico! This time the destination was Cabo San Lucas! I was obviously thrilled to go to a place as fun and colorful as Mexico so there was no need to pack a carry on.. checked luggage seemed necessary, what can I say I like to have options! I’ve linked all my Cabo looks here https://www.liketoknow.it/hallearielgarrus

Let’s talk swimsuits

Everyone needs a great swimsuit or 7 for a 5 day trip ( I did say I like options right?) I went with some bright swimsuits for this trip because hey, it’s summer and a tropical location so why not?!

Vibrant fun and FEMININE

This was one of my favorite swimsuits. It’s BCBG from Saks off Fifth and the colors are so fun and bright is was the perfect poolside option for our relaxing day at the resort.

THe Classic one piece

This classic Jcrew one piece was very flattering and great for the hike that I did and at the end there was a gorgeous waterfall.

The fun two piece

I found this two piece Johnny Was swimsuit at TJ maxx and loved the print! The fit was great and the pattern was so fun I had to bring it home. Plus who doesn’t love a deal I got this set for around $75 which is great considering this would’ve been the cost of the bottoms retail.

The statement one piece

I love this gorgeous printed one piece from Anthropologie it such a great print and the dip in the back and the small ruffle sleeve is such a fun touch !

Hats off!

Listen everyone needs a good hat at the beach! These two hats were must haves for my trip!

The boater hat

This boater hat is so perfect, it’s the right color and just a classic to have in your closet! and the inside has an elastic band so it sits securely.

The statement hat

This extra large hat was a purchase I made during covid when everything was shutdown and it was my glimmer of hope that one day I’d be able to wear it at the beach and I like to think I manifested this into happening! I got so many compliments on this statement hat, it definitely keeps you shaded!

Time for dinner

Anytime I go on vacation I love to bring the pieces in my closet that are the most fun. In Mexico I can wear the items that are colorful and have fun, vibrant prints. I tend to stick with dresses mostly because they’re easy to slip on after a day of lounging in the sun and eating endless tacos by the pool. Honestly they’re a win win for a beach vacay!

THe sunset sail look

This dress is actually an older Free People dress that I scooped up from Tj Maxx a few years ago.. Free people is a great for beachy options. I wore this for our sunset boat ride and it was the perfect dress short enough to not drag on the floor and had sleeves when the wind picked up later that evening as we were sailing in.

a night on the town

For our last night in Cabo I wore this fun printed dress with tassels on the bottom that I found for $19 on Anthropologies sale rack! It was the perfect dress to wear around town and check out the local shops. The printed sections are gorgeous and the detailed belt is such a fun touch. It was also super comfortable and flowy. What more can you ask for?!

The pant option

Even if I’m dining at the resort I love to get dressed up even if it is just to go downstairs. I ate at a fusion restaurant this night so I went with a flowy silk pant and white tank. I also used this beautiful bamboo bag (found at Tj Maxx) with every outfit. I liked this one because it actually had a zipper pouch so your items are secure!

Fun ACTIVITIES

I love to lounge by the beach and pool but leaving to go explore surrounding areas is sometimes a much needed change of scenery. Here are some of the things I did that I found worth a trip outside of the resort.

fox canyon

This place is gorgeous and quite a gem, however it is quite a drive to get here from Cabo San Lucas roughly 1.5 hours by car and the hike itself is not easy but as you can see it is worth the trip to see the beautiful desert oasis! Also the local lunch we had was amazing and the dragon fruit pina coladas… SOOO GOOD!

Lovers Beach

Take note you can’t swim at most Cabo beaches. I looked this up before I went and I’m glad I did. We had lifeguards at our resort beach and some days the waves were so big you could barely get your feet wet and if you tried, beware of the Lifeguard whistle (safety first) seriously, these waves are NO JOKE and I’m a strong swimmer. If you want to swim you’ll have to visit places like Medano Beach or Lovers Beach. Lovers Beach was beautiful and not too crowded in the late morning to early afternoon. I was able to just hop on a water taxi and in about 3 Mexican Minutes I was there! You can swim in the part they have sectioned off but the waves are still fairly large but it’s fun to hop in the cool water and admire the scenery!

Sunset sail

This was a trip highlight for sure! I loved that it was a small group of people and the music playlist was on point! It did get a little windy towards the end but still a beautiful sunset. They even gave us a great snack tray and wecome cocktail, along with unlimited drinks ( I drank a couple of ranch waters for my drink of choice)! I went with Cabo adventures, you can check out their site link I’ve included, they have some fun tours available and they are so professional and easy to arrange pick up and drop off!
