The Perfect Weekend Getaway ft. Hyatt Lost Pines Resort and Spa

I spent my weekend at the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort and Spa and let me tell you it was the perfect weekend getaway to take in some fresh air and have some much needed R&R.

This beautiful gem is located on 405 acres just a short 2 hour drive outside of Houston. This place has something for just about everyone from adults to kids or if you’re planning the perfect family staycation this place is perfection!

I stayed on the third floor with my room overlooking the butterfly garden and to the immediate left was where the longhorns and horses grazed throughout the day. The room was also located right next to the outside staircase which made it easy to get in and out without taking the elevators to the lobby and quick access to walking the property for a casual sunset stroll or sunrise if you’re a morning person.

To make it better there are tons of fun events and activities on the property. At check in they will give you a calendar of events for the week and there is a handy dandy schedule of events offered by the Resort listed by the hour. I hung out by the pool for most of the day, taking in the thousand foot long, crooked lazy river with a swim up bar (frosé anyone?) and the fun water slide ( I might’ve had more fun than the kids) but hey R&R right?! If you have a few people with you you can opt to rent a poolside cabana to escape the heat when you’re not soaking up the sun poolside.

One activity that I had to partake in was the nightly Smore’s roasting, because who doesn’t want Smore’s by the campfire on a Texas summer night?!

There are also tons of nature trails to take a leisurely stroll or hike, bikes that you can ride around the property that come in a variety of sizes, which is nice for shorties like me lol. Oh and remember those longhorns I told you about? Well guess who got to meet one.. thats right, this girl! It was one of my highlights for sure and let me tell you Ribeye (the longhorn) was pretty excited too! Seriously, there is so much to do here guys, from scavenger hunts to family movie night on the lawn, you will never run out of fun activities. Oh and for all my parents out there who might want some quiet time or get some R&R of their own Hyatt offers different camp options for your kiddos.

Be sure to check out the list of paid activities on your sheet at check in. I didn’t participate in any of these this time but am looking forward to trying them on my next visit, such as floating the Colorado River and Zip-lining!

Before I forget all my guys and gals that like to hit those small little white balls on that green grass, I think it’s something called  golf..you’re taken care of here too because.. you guessed it they also have an award winning course and driving range ready for you to put your hole in one game to the test! (see I know a little something about golf!)

Okay now let’s talk food! Everyone loves a good breakfast and they say it’s the most important meal of the day so you have to start off on the right foot. You’ve got my personal fav the buffet which has a great variety of options from eggs to oatmeal, yogurt and cereal there’s something for everyone. There are a few other casual dinning options throughout the resort. I opted to have some lunch snacks poolside and the service was excellent, quick, and tasty and who doesn’t want a nice, cold, piña colada with lunch by the adults only pool?!

I did go for the upscale dining option, Stories on the last night and I must say it was a great choice! They had an excellent wine selection and the food was spectacular!

There is a cute little corner store that has breakfast on the go, fun candy snacks, and a Starbucks (because we all need our coffee). They also offer some fun little souvenirs as well. Right around the corner is a boutique called Crossroads where you can pick up some higher end jewelry, quirky and cute gifts, and some fun clothing options (you know just incase you “forgot” something at home). I’m telling ya this place has it all! It’s almost like they don’t want you to leave…

Overall this is a place I’ll definitely be back to for a fun weekend date or a weekend getaway with the girls! Hyatt Lost Pines is 5 out of 5 on every level!

Please feel free to leave any comments or questions you might have about your next weekend getaway!

XOXO,

Halle
